About Bowie

Meet Bowie! Bowie is a devoted five-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd/Siberian Husky/Australian Cattle Dog mix currently living in Amherst, MA. His tricolor coat reflects his calm and gentle spirit, while his 65-pound frame makes him an impressive companion. He enjoys the little things in life, from sunbathing to taking leisurely strolls or curling up with his favorite stuffed animals for a cozy nap. With his playful howls, Bowie greets his loved ones in a uniquely Husky way, bringing smiles all around. This easygoing dog has completed formal obedience training and knows commands like sit, down, shake, and circle. Bowie is well-behaved during car rides and settles peacefully when left alone, preferring a quiet spot to relax until his family returns. He thrives on routine and is just as happy lounging on the deck as he is exploring the neighborhood. Though he needs thoughtful introductions to visitors, he is a loving and playful companion once trust is established. Bowie is most comfortable in a calm home without other dogs and children, as he has had some past incidents that require careful management of his environment. His previous family worked extensively with a trainer, helping him overcome leash reactivity. Healthy, neutered, and microchipped, Bowie is also house-trained and current on vaccinations. He eats Hill's Science Diet to keep his sensitive stomach happy. If you crave a loyal friend who will delight in quiet moments together, Bowie could be the perfect match for you! If you're interested in welcoming Bowie into your home, please reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com for adoption details. Bowie’s family will keep him until a suitable new home is found.
