About Berkley

Meet Berkley! This spirited three-year-old German Shepherd/Hound mix currently resides in Youngsville, NC. His playful energy, devoted companionship, and those enormous ears wrapped in a silky black and tan coat make him truly one of a kind. At around 70 pounds, Berkley is a tall and handsome guy with a heart as big as his personality. He sports a warm smile that shines even brighter when he's proudly carrying his favorite tennis ball after an exciting round of play. Berkley enjoys toys of all kinds and is always ready to share the fun. Whether it’s tossing a ball, engaging in a friendly game of tug-of-war, or heading outside to burn off some energy, he’s eager to join in on the action. He loves running, going for car rides, exploring during calm walks, and snuggling up to relax afterward. Berkley simply thrives when he’s with his people! This playful boy is house-trained and crate-trained, comes when called, and knows to sit. He can relax in his crate when left alone for short periods. Berkley is friendly with other dogs and gentle with children of all ages. However, older kids who enjoy his energetic playfulness may especially connect with him. On leash, Berkley might react to excitable dogs and can feel overwhelmed in busy environments. He would flourish with continued leash training, patient behavior support, and positive reinforcement. A fenced yard would provide him a fantastic space for exercise and play while he learns good leash manners. Berkley is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. With his goofy ears, adventurous spirit, and loving personality, he's ready to bring plenty of joy to a new home. Could Berkley be the big-eared, big-hearted companion your family has been waiting for? Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let's get started.
