About Wendy
Wendy’s journey brought her to GSRA when she showed up at someone’s home and collapsed from exhaustion. She was quickly taken to the shelter, where her photos caught our attention, and we knew we had to help her. When she first arrived, Wendy was just 23.5 pounds, far from the healthy weight of around 50 pounds for a petite Sheppie. We rushed her to the vet for a complete evaluation, ready for bad news. Surprisingly, her blood work came back normal, and even the vet was taken aback. Now, she’s on a careful feeding regimen to help her regain weight, and she’s already started to fill out nicely. Though we’re aware health issues could arise as she heals, we’re hopeful for her future. Wendy embodies the essence of a sweet senior. She is house trained, well-mannered, and affectionate, plus she walks well on a leash. She thrives around other dogs once she feels secure. It’s hard to believe she found herself homeless. If you can open your heart to this brave girl, visit gsdrescue.org to learn more and apply for adoption. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
