About Sandy
Sandy is an easy-going, 62-pound, adult German Shepherd with a gentle temperament and polished manners. Although her backstory is a mystery, she has clearly had positive experiences—she sits, lies down, and shakes on command. House and crate trained, Sandy does well both when crated and when left loose at home. Walks are a highlight for her: she strolls calmly on leash, pays little mind to passing dogs or squirrels, and prefers to absorb every scent along the way. She has a quirky love for shoes, socks, and stuffed animals—she’ll carry them around but leaves everything undamaged. Her true passion, though, is “doggie soccer” with a basketball. She runs zoomies in the yard but settles down nicely inside, rarely barking and always eager for a snack or car ride. If you’re going on a long road trip, Sandy can get carsick without Dramamine, but keep it short and she’s happy just to come along. Vet and groomer visits are no trouble. Sandy lights up around kids, from teenagers to young children. She’s polite with food and remarkably well-behaved indoors—trash cans and treats are safe in her presence. She currently sleeps upstairs or cozies up on a bean bag to keep watch. Sandy needs a family that will keep her active and included. Note: Sandy does not get along with cats or other dogs, so she’ll do best as the only pet in a home with a yard and children to love. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
