Dax is an 8-year-old male German Shepherd from Raleigh, NC. He is medium-sized with a yellow/tan coat. Dax is altered and enjoys his crate, but he does experience separation anxiety. He's best suited for a calm home and needs an experienced dog owner to guide him well.

About Dax

Meet Dax! He dances, prances, and gives sideways glances. This smart, curious, and sassy German Shepherd is initially cautious around people but quickly warms up and seeks companionship, showering you with kisses and snuggles. Dax is a true "morning dog," eager to start his day, ready to tell you all about it as you head outside. While he could use some leash training, he has taken well to crate training and eagerly sits for his meals and treats, sometimes even doing a little dance for them! Dax would thrive as either a solo dog or as a companion to a calm, older pup. His current foster brother is a high-energy dog, and Dax has learned to assert himself. He really enjoys playtime but is also content to lounge and be a couch potato. Out in the yard, he loves to patrol and will find any gaps to explore, so secure fencing and leashed walks are essential. At night and during the day, he finds comfort in his crate. However, he does experience some separation anxiety and can get vocal if left alone. His ideal environment would be a calm home with an experienced dog owner. Dax is ready to embrace love and adventure with the right person by his side. Click apply to start the adoption process.
