About Willow
Meet Willow! This spirited six-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier is currently in Amherst, MA. Wrapped in a striking black-and-white coat, her affectionate heart and adventurous personality make her a wonderful companion. At around 60 pounds, Willow thrives on outdoor explorations, loving long walks, hikes, and splashing in water. After a day of adventure, she enjoys some serious couch cuddling. Willow is full of energy and does best with a predictable routine. A good morning walk sets the tone for her day, and she's ready to relax afterward—though she'll make sure you remember evening walk time! Her favorite indoor activities include destroying stuffies, chewing on filled bones, burrowing under covers for cuddles, and enjoying shows like 'The Great British Bake Off' when her family steps out. Despite her tough exterior, she’s an anxious and sensitive soul who needs patience to warm up to new people. Willow is reactive on leash and prefers a six-foot personal space around unfamiliar faces. Treats work wonders for building friendship, and once she feels safe, her affectionate side shines bright! Loud noises, storms, and fireworks can make her nervous. Willow takes daily Trazodone for anxiety and Apoquel for allergies. Willow needs a home without children, as she has shown resource guarding around food. Though she has had minor growling incidents, she's typically affectionate and loving, showering her family with enthusiastic kisses and cuddles once trust is established. She’s dog selective and would do best in a home with no other dogs. Her compatibility with cats is still unknown. This spayed, house-trained, microchipped, and vaccinated girl has received formal training. A fenced yard is ideal, along with pet parents who can provide structure and positive reinforcement. The reward for earning Willow's trust is immense: cuddles, kisses, and a devoted companion. Could Willow be the hiking buddy and champion cuddler you've been waiting to welcome into your family?
