About Buckeye
Buckeye is one of nine playful puppies born at the shelter on September 8th. His mother, Lenore, is a hound mix, and while weβre unsure who the father is, some puppies exhibit traits suggesting a mix with Labrador or Golden Retriever. Expect Buckeye to grow into a large dog as he matures. He will be ready for a new home around mid-November, after receiving his second distemper/parvo vaccination. The rest of his basic vet care will be scheduled with his adopter through our vet partners. This includes his third distemper/parvo vaccination, rabies shot, and neuter surgeryβall covered under the adoption fee of $150. Puppies need time, patience, and consistent training to thrive. They seek dedicated homes committed to keeping them for life. Buckeye and his siblings are friendly with other dogs and are young enough to adapt to cats as well. However, very young children might not be the best fit while they learn proper manners and social interactions. Itβs important that they have families that wonβt leave them alone for extended periods. To adopt, please complete an application online at our website. We are based in Austin, MN, conveniently near the airport. Potential adopters must be at least 21 years old, and any resident dogs should be current on vaccinations and spayed or neutered.
