About Sprout

Sprout is a delightful female puppy, one of nine born on September 8th at the shelter. Her mother, Lenore, seems to be a hound mix, and while the father's identity is a mystery, hints of lab or golden retriever traits show in the pups' appearances. Sprout is expected to grow into a large dog. She's slated for her second parvo/distemper vaccination soon and will be ready for adoption around mid-November. Her future adopter will need to schedule her remaining vet visits, including her spay surgery, through our partner vets, all of which is covered by the $150 adoption fee. Training and patience are essential for puppies like Sprout, who need loving, secure homes committed to their lifelong care. Although she and her siblings are young enough to learn appropriate interactions with cats, homes with very young children might not be ideal just yet as they learn social manners. Importantly, Sprout thrives in environments where people are home for much of the day. Adoptions are by appointment only after an application is completed. Our shelter is conveniently located in Austin, right next to the airport.
