About Zuko Arriving D

Zuko is a charming little guy on a special mission: ensuring his humans are never starved for affection. As a Chihuahua mix, he’s adjusting from a tough outdoor life to the comforts of being an indoor companion. His skills at soliciting love are remarkable; he often strolls over and stands on your legs, clearly signaling that it’s cuddle time. While Zuko enjoys being close to his humans, he’s still learning the ropes of indoor life, so a patient and gentle adopter is essential. He thrives on attention and will do best with someone who understands that settling in takes time. Zuko currently lives with other Chihuahuas and, while he can be a bit bossy with the younger ones, careful introductions could help develop his social skills. He prefers a laid-back lifestyle rather than an endless array of activities. What he longs for is a person who will cherish him, give him time to adapt, and let him snuggle up. Zuko is ready to exchange his uncertain past for a warm bed and tons of love. Currently residing in Texas, he will arrive in Minnesota on 11/6/2026. He must be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN, between 8:30 am and 11:00 am. Please remember that he is available only through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Additionally, Zuko is undergoing treatment for heartworm disease, requiring limited activity as he recovers. Ruff Start Rescue will cover the entire treatment cost and provide preventatives until the retest date. His new adopter will need to schedule the retest and handle follow-up care through their vet.
