Obie is a calm, 5-year-old Chihuahua and Miniature Pinscher mix looking for a loving, adult-only home. This gentle soul is ready to be your favorite lap dog. Friendly yet a bit shy, he takes time to warm up to new environments and people. He enjoys cuddling with his soft toys and loves creating a cozy space in his crate. Peaceful surroundings are ideal for him, and he can coexist well with calm dogs. Obie is crate trained, enjoys car rides, and is potty trained, although he may need some time to get used to a new routine. He’s still mastering leash walking, so gentle handling and patience will go a long way with him. If you're searching for a sweet, low-key companion to shower with love and cuddles, Obie is your guy! Please note that Obie is currently being treated for heartworm disease, so activity must be restricted during his recovery. Ruff Start Rescue will cover treatment costs and provide heartworm preventatives until the retest. You'll be responsible for scheduling the retest after his recovery.
