About Kevin

Meet Kevin, a shy yet sweet Chihuahua mix who arrived at the shelter on April 9, 2026. Kevin is learning to enjoy tasty treats and the peace of quiet company. He’s starting to relax next to his caregivers, but he still needs time to feel comfortable with petting. Kevin seeks a calm and predictable home, ideally with an experienced adopter who understands shy dogs. He’ll flourish in a private, enclosed outdoor space while he learns about leash walking, so a secure yard is essential. If there are children in the home, they should be able to follow instructions and respect his need for personal space. With consistent positive reinforcement, Kevin will take small steps toward feeling secure and at home. At San Diego Humane Society, he has been neutered and vaccinated, and is now ready for a loving home. Ready to take your time with a gentle soul like Kevin? Apply today!
