Meet Baby! This soulful eight-year-old weighs 74 pounds and is a delightful mix of American Staffordshire Terrier and Pit Bull Terrier. Her brindle-and-white coat perfectly matches her big brown eyes and charming smile. Baby is a true people-lover, happiest when curled up next to her favorite human, soaking up belly rubs, or enjoying a sunny day in the yard. She can also be a spirited playmate, especially when chasing a squeaky ball or playing keep-away. While she has her energetic bursts, Baby is generally calm and low-maintenance around the house, making her an ideal companion for remote workers or anyone looking for a loving pet to share their space. She’s house-trained and knows commands like Sit, Down, and Wait. Baby is comfortable being on her own, frequently keeping herself entertained for several hours without any issues. When meeting new people, she can be a little wary, particularly of unfamiliar men, but warms up quickly with gentle introductions and treats. Although she has not been around children, her patient nature suggests she could do well with them in a careful setting. Baby is looking for a home where she can be the only pet, or possibly alongside her best friend Boogie. Unfortunately, she does not get along with other dogs, cats, or small animals. Walks in low-traffic areas are preferable, as she can be a bit reactive to passing dogs. Her medical history includes allergies that are managed with a special diet and routine ear care. She also has arthritis and a possible cruciate ligament injury. While her ongoing joint care will require attention, her future family will have the benefit of medical insurance to help cover costs for treatment, including a consult with a trainer. Baby came to us in December 2024 from Oakland Animal Services right before being euthanized. Since then, she has thrived in a loving foster environment.
