About Pi

Click apply to start the adoption process. For more than four years, Pi has lived a life many dogs never experience — one marked by survival, devotion, and remarkable resilience. At just 4½ years old, this Bullmastiff–Pit Bull mix’s journey could have led to a hardened heart, yet it has made him gentle, loyal, and infinitely hopeful. Since he was only three weeks old, Pi was inseparable from his person as they navigated life on the streets. Together, they made homes wherever they could, adapting to the unpredictability of each day. Despite the absence of a warm bed or steady routine, Pi always offered his unwavering loyalty. His companionship was constant, regardless of the challenges he and his person faced. When his owner was taken away due to an unexpected encounter with law enforcement, Pi was left alone for the first time. The shelter became his new environment — unfamiliar, quiet, and missing the soft comforts he never really knew. For 414 days, he waited patiently, hoping for another shot at belonging. Ultimately, his person, unable to provide the life Pi deserved, made a difficult, loving decision to surrender him. Now, Pi’s devotion is ready for a new direction. He weighs about 72 pounds, is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He’s lived with children, dogs, and cats in past settings, but after decompressing, it’s clear Pi thrives best as the only pet, in a home with children ages 16 and up. Given his history, a household where someone is home most of the time is ideal, as Pi craves companionship and routine. He walks well on leash, adores car rides and plush toys, and particularly enjoys calm, steady guidance from a confident handler. Above all else, he embodies devotion and hope. Now ready for the comfort and love of a true forever home, Pi is eager to share all he has to give with the right family. Being fostered in Old Lyme, CT, Pi is available for meet and greets state-wide! Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
