About Henry Chestnut

Meet Henry Chestnut! This charming Shepherd/Carolina Dog mix is on the lookout for his forever family. Henry's journey began when he found himself on a crowded shelter's euthanasia list, simply because he was scared and the shelter lacked space. Since his rescue, he has demonstrated incredible strength and adaptability, ready to bloom in the right home. At 7.5 years young, Henry embodies a smooth, medium energy. He enjoys spirited, structured walks but is equally content to relax indoors with a cozy nap afterwards. What sets Henry apart? He has recently completed an elite board-and-train program and is a star student! Henry is very responsive to commands and excels on a leash, thriving on routine. Transition sessions with his training team come included with his adoption, making it easy for you to continue his training. Henry is a pro when it comes to crate transitions, making him easy to manage at home. He seeks an adopter who is active and confident, as he needs a partner to establish clear boundaries. Henry's sensitive nature calls for patience; he needs a home that allows him to decompress without pressure to interact too soon. Once trust is built, he can show his affectionate and playful side. While Henry can live with another dog, it will require a slow and thoughtful introduction. Are you ready to be the special person Henry is waiting for? Click apply to start the adoption process.
