About Atlas
Atlas is a loving cattle dog rescued from a Houston-area shelter, now ready for his forever home. He’s friendly with dogs of all breeds and sizes and enjoys playing with pups his own size. This smart dog walks well on a leash and is fully crate-trained, though he prefers a calm environment over the chaos of rambunctious puppies. While Atlas does enjoy canine companionship, he doesn’t necessarily need another dog in his forever home. He would thrive as an only dog as long as his new family provides plenty of attention, socialization, and mental and physical stimulation. Atlas is affectionate and loves neck scratches. Give him a little time to warm up, and you’ll earn a loyal friend for life. Atlas does well with older, respectful children who can interact with him appropriately. He’s not suited for homes with livestock, so potential adopters should understand the unique needs of herding breeds. With structure and consistency, Atlas will flourish, as these intelligent dogs appreciate a stimulating environment. Most importantly, Atlas needs a patient and loving home that allows him to build trust at his own pace. Once he feels safe, his devotion will know no bounds. Atlas is approximately 3 years old and weighs 35 lbs. He’s being fostered in Houston, Texas, but can be adopted across the country with transport available. His adoption fee is $600, which includes transport, and he comes fully vaccinated and neutered. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
