About Jack

Meet Jack, a delightful Blue Heeler mix with a charming smile. At one year old and 41 pounds, he embodies the qualities of a young cattle dog: smart, athletic, loyal, curious, and playful, with just a touch of mischief to keep life interesting. Rescued from a rural shelter near Houston, Jack has a tough start to life but is ready for brighter days. Once he feels secure, his sweet personality shines through. Jack adores his humans and thrives on being included in activities. Whether he's fetching a ball, exploring outside, or snuggling beside you for belly rubs, he is eager to share in life’s adventures. His goofy grin, especially when you hit that special spot under his chin, is infectious. A big fan of toys, Jack excels at fetch and is driven by food, making training enjoyable. He's learned basic commands like sit and down. As a typical cattle dog, he requires an active household that can provide plenty of exercise and mental challenges. Activities like hiking and obedience training will keep him engaged. Jack is dog-friendly and loves to play with canine companions. A playful dog sibling would enrich his life, but a dedicated adopter can fulfill his social needs individually. He is still gaining confidence in busy environments; however, he adjusts quickly once he feels safe. At home, he exhibits great behavior, comfortably kennels and sleeps through the night, either in his bed or beside you. Jack adores children, happily joining in their games, though he can get a bit nibbly when excited—it's all in good fun. He doesn’t need a perfect family; he just needs commitment and understanding of his journey. Jack will undoubtedly flourish with a family that offers patience and the chance to adjust. Currently fostered in Houston, Texas, he is available for adoption across various locations. Jack's adoption fee includes transportation. If you're ready for an affectionate and adventurous friend who can bring joy into your life, he is excited to meet you. Your new best friend is just one click away.
