Meet Michelle! This 3-year-old spayed female American Staffordshire Terrier mix is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas, weighing about 48 pounds. She’s full of life and can’t wait to find her forever family. Rescued from a high-kill shelter, Michelle is seizing her second chance with open paws. Michelle is fun-loving and affectionate, enjoying both playtime and cozy cuddles. She gets along well with other dogs and loves her furry foster siblings. While she can be energetic and occasionally gets a little carried away during play, she knows how to read their cues and adapts her behavior accordingly. She thrives outside, running and playing, but also knows when it’s time to chill. Inside, Michelle is a calm companion, often lounging or snoozing happily. She’s fully housebroken and crate trained, even choosing to hang out in her crate during the day. While she’s sweet with children ages 8 and up, Michelle does jump when excited. For this reason, a home with kids 12+ or experienced younger teens would suit her best. She's quick to learn, food motivated, and adapts well with proper guidance at mealtimes. Michelle walks fairly well on leash, but continued training will help with her tendency to pull. A secure yard is essential since she’s a bit of an escape artist. Despite this, she can adapt well to an apartment if she gets regular exercise open space. Affectionate and quirky, Michelle loves being close to her people and brings joy with her goofy personality.
