About Michelle

Meet Michelle! This lively 3-year-old spayed female American Staffordshire Terrier mix is currently thriving in a foster home in Houston, Texas, and is ready to find her forever family. Weighing about 48 pounds, she brings plenty of affection and social energy, especially when playing with her doggy foster siblings. Michelle was rescued from a high-kill shelter and has really embraced her second chance at life. She’s friendly and eager to play, often running outside and then settling down calmly indoors for a good snooze. Michelle has shown to be great with children ages 8 and up, but due to her playful enthusiasm, we recommend she lives with kids 12+, or dog-savvy teens who can handle her energetic spirit. Fully housebroken and crate trained, Michelle is food motivated and learns quickly. However, she can be a bit sneaky around snacks, so she does best with guidance during mealtimes. While she pulls a little on the leash, with continued training, she’ll keep improving. An escape artist at heart, she needs supervision outdoors, especially since she loves to chew on sticks or anything she finds. Michelle thrives in environments where she gets a lot of love and playtime, ideally with another friendly dog. She’s quirky, affectionate, and loves to be close to her people, often plopping herself in your lap or hovering nearby for attention. She would do wonderfully, bringing joy and plenty of cuddles to her new home. Are you ready to make her part of your family?
