About Mila
Meet Mila (aka Mimi)! Located in Cedar Rapids, this nearly 3-year-old, 70-lb mix of German Shepherd and Akita is essentially a giant puppy cloaked in a lovely apricot and beige coat. Mila is a true cuddler, eager to be by your side for tummy rubs, ear scratches, and any attention you can offer. She particularly enjoys lounging upside down, fully embracing her playful spirit. When playtime rolls around, she’s ready for fetch, tug-of-war, and lots of zoomies, turning her toys into her personal adventure. Food is a great motivator for Mila, and she’ll happily spin in circles for whipped cream! She is house trained and behaves wonderfully when left unattended in the house. More than anything, Mila believes she belongs snuggled up in bed. She knows some commands like sit, shake, and stay, and is eager to improve her leash manners. Mila gets along well with kids, but she has shown a tendency to chase cats—albeit without causing harm. While she can be reactive when she sees other animals on walks or near the yard, she behaves well in public spaces, like Petco. Having come from a rescue circumstance where she raised seven puppies, it’s Mila’s time to shine now. With her charming personality, she’s looking for a family ready to continue her training and join her on playful adventures. Her expressive ears say it all: happy ears upright, relaxed ears out to the side, and zoomie ears straight back. If you're seeking a fun, loving companion who also loves her couch snuggles, Mila could be your perfect match!
