Meet Izzy, a petite Shiba Inu who packs a big personality into her 17-pound frame. This charming girl was surrendered to dog control after her cleverness led her to repeatedly escape from her previous yard. Now with us at Pixie Mamas Rescue, she’s thriving and ready to find her forever home. Izzy is the quintessential Shiba: confident, energetic, and a little stubborn, but in all the endearing ways. With time, she builds a strong bond and is affectionate with those she trusts. She loves gentle petting and seeks attention when it suits her, showing her independent spirit. Despite her typical shyness with being brushed, she is making progress thanks to her caring foster family. Perfectly housetrained and crate trained, Izzy keeps her living area clean and quiet in her crate. She enjoys socializing with other dogs and has even started to play, which is a great sign. This little lady does have her fun vocal range, complete with excited yips and quirky sounds that Shiba lovers adore. She needs a fully fenced yard for her safety, and we prefer a stockade or panel-style fence to keep her secure. Izzy isn’t a shadow dog; she values her independence but is an incredibly loyal and smart companion for the right owner.
