Johnny is a remarkable young dog who came to us from a challenging neglect situation. Rescued from a life spent in outdoor cages with inadequate food and resources, he has shown incredible resilience. Despite his past, Johnny embodies gentleness and submission, preferring to avoid conflict whenever possible. It’s heartwarming to witness him transform into a happy, playful dog as he learns what it means to feel safe. Currently, he shares his space with Kristoff, a lively companion, and together they bring joy to each other’s lives. Watching them play allows Johnny to unwind and enjoy his newfound freedom. He seems to thrive with other friendly dogs, making him an ideal candidate for a home where he can continue to bond with canine buddies. Excitingly, Johnny has tested negative for heartworms, sparing him from the lengthy treatment some of his friends are facing. We’re guessing he may be a Mountain Cur mix, given his origins in North Carolina, but whatever his background, he is ready to embrace life with a loving family.
