Meet Tommy Boy, an exceptional Great Pyrenees seeking a foster or forever home. Previously living on a farm, Tommy took his job of guarding chickens seriously, though he found more excitement in chasing steers. Now, he has embraced the comforts of indoor life and is a laid-back boy who enjoys strolling around the yard and then retreating inside to relax. Tommy is leash trained and surprisingly obedient—when you say, “Tommy, come,” he actually listens, which is a delightful surprise for any Pyr owner. He also responds to “sit” and will do so for a treat of chicken jerky. Tommy has previously lived happily with another dog and is currently nonreactive around other dogs in boarding. He greets new people with friendliness and has a calm demeanor that makes him a perfect companion for children of all ages. He’s comfortable around chickens and doesn’t dig. Interestingly, this gentle giant rarely barks; he tends to observe quietly when loud cars pass by. Grooming is a dream with Tommy; after a long bath, he was so relaxed he nearly dozed off. His temperament is incredibly gentle and patient. All he desires is to be near his family in a home with a securely fenced yard, air conditioning, and lots of love. Tommy is ready to be part of a family, whether with children or other pets. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
