Meet Nyla. This beautiful German Shepherd is about 5 years old and has been through quite a lot recently. She came to the shelter after her owner was hospitalized and could no longer care for her. Transitioning from a familiar home to the busy shelter environment has been a challenge, but Nyla is adapting well. She's been friendly and affectionate with the staff, soaking up all the attention she can get. Nyla has lived successfully with other dogs and has previously done well with children, though it’s been a while since she’s interacted with them. She’s never been around cats, so a cat-free home is likely the best option to ensure everyone’s comfort. During her stay, we discovered an issue with Nyla's eye and she was diagnosed with Pannus, a condition that can impact her vision if not treated. Fortunately, this can be managed with prescription eye drops that she’ll need for the rest of her life, along with regular veterinary care. What Nyla truly needs now is a patient adopter who can provide her with a safe and loving environment where she can decompress and gradually show her true personality.
