Meet Tapatía! (Pronounced Tah-pah-TEE-ah, or just Tía for short!) Named after the famous Tapatío hot sauce for her stunning red brindle coat, Tapatía is a loving girl who has faced adversity but is ready to embrace a brighter future. She was rescued from a highway after wandering alone, severely neglected and underweight, having just given birth with her puppies missing. A kind family took her in, showering her with love and care until local rescuers could help. After years of hardship, Tía's former life included enduring harsh Arkansas summers and winters while endlessly caring for her litters in the dirt. Despite her past, she has maintained a mellow demeanor. She's social and gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and even children. Tía is reveling in new experiences—regular meals, playtime, and companionship. She's also looking for a foster or forever home where she can be treated like the queen she is. Having spent her life caring for others, this devoted mama is now more than ready to be cared for. It's her turn to shine in a safe and loving environment.
