About Diamond
Diamond’s story is as striking as her name. Now about five, she’s a sleek black Pit Bull/Lab mix who came out the other side of deep neglect and abuse. Early on, she was skin and bones, her coat bald in spots, wary of humans. But over time, patience and gentleness brought her out of her shell. Diamond is crate trained and has never had an accident indoors. Nights are easy—she’ll rest quietly in her crate, though she’d love nothing more than curling up beside her person. Once she feels safe, her playful and silly side comes out—zoomies, toy time, long walks, and a big, endearing grin. Affection is still something she’s adjusting to, but each day her foster helps her learn that people can be kind. She needs to be the only pet in an adult-only home—Diamond isn’t cat-friendly and may react unpredictably to other dogs. The right adopter will give her slow introductions, structure, and a sense of security. Because of her background, food is important to her, so meals need care and supervision. Like a typical, happy young dog, Diamond still gets mouthy when excited, but she redirects easily when guided. In the right home, her loyalty and goofy sweetness are remarkable—she’s living proof that love and patience work wonders. Diamond is eligible for a foster-to-adopt program, giving you a chance to get to know her at home before finalizing adoption. She’s looking for a fresh start with someone who’ll let her sparkle. Your new best friend is just one click away.
