Rescued from a breeder, she has spent years in crates and is now learning to embrace the joys of life outside of confinement. Octavia needs a patient and understanding home, one that will help her discover safety and love. Although she’s still shy and skittish, she’s gradually becoming comfortable with affection and kindness. Currently, Octavia is recovering from an ear infection and some skin issues, so ongoing care will be essential as she heals. She has had some hematomas in her ears, which have caused complications, making her more vulnerable to infections. While she is house training and sometimes uses pee pads, there may be occasional accidents as she continues her journey to recovery. Octavia is lively and playful, enjoying the energy of being active. It’s heartwarming to see her learn that life is not just sitting in a crate. She will thrive in a home where someone is present often, as she can be quite vocal when seeking attention. Octavia gets along well with other dogs, especially submissive ones, and having a canine companion may help her adjust and feel secure. Remember, she is still considered a flight risk, so a leash or fenced area is necessary when outside.
