Meet Maynard, the professional fetch champion you’ve been waiting for! If your perfect day includes a walk, an epic game of fetch, and a devoted companion, Maynard fits the bill. At 3 years old and 14 solid pounds, he showcases the athletic charm of a Teddy Roosevelt rat terrier. This little guy is eager to bring fun and energy to your home. Maynard’s true passion? A ball. He’s relentless in his pursuit of anything round, whether it’s rolling down a hallway or bouncing across the yard. A smart, high-energy dog, he thrives when he has an outlet for his cleverness. Friendliness defines Maynard’s demeanor; he greets humans with exuberant tail wags and a bright-eyed expression. When you come home, he’ll make excited little barks, ready for playtime. While he enjoys attention, he’s not a lap dog—he prefers active engagement over cuddling. After a good play session, he might relax nearby, but snuggles aren’t his style. Maynard is sociable with dogs he meets during walks, although he prefers those closer to his size and can feel intimidated by larger dogs. He is house-trained, sleeps well in a crate, and is a great car rider. His ideal adopters are active individuals or families who love outdoor play and are ready to embrace the spirited personality of a working terrier. A secure yard or regular walks are essential, as is plenty of human engagement. Maynard is ready to pack his favorite tennis ball for some new adventures. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
