About Journey
Journey is a two-year-old sable German Shepherd and quite the imposing presence at a solid eighty pounds. He stands tall and carries a big bark, but underneath, he has a soft soul. If you’ve ever thought about having a mini horse but faced restrictions from your HOA, Journey might just fit the bill—he’s bound to turn heads! Having spent much of his early life tied to a tree, Journey is now eager to experience life to the fullest. Despite his past, he is full of joy and still has some puppy energy, albeit moderate. For safety's sake, he would do best in a home without small children, as his enthusiasm can be overwhelming. Journey gets along well with female dogs of all sizes and also smaller male dogs. He cherishes his friendships and plays gently; his current best friend is a blind and deaf dachshund puppy. His gentle spirit shows in how he interacts with the more delicate dogs. A natural protector, he will bark to warn of any uninvited guests, but once he knows you’re welcome, he’ll quickly transform into a wiggling, affectionate companion. This gentle giant truly loves his people, especially men, and while he might favor a male companion, he shares that love broadly within the family. He is house trained, crate trained, and manageable when given free roam. Journey notably enjoys bathtime, as he takes the initiative to cool off in the sprinkler himself!
