Benji is a sweet 9.5-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing about 15 pounds. His journey began when he lost his previous owner unexpectedly, resulting in him spending a lot of time hiding in his crate. Since moving to his foster home, he has slowly learned to feel safe outside of it, now preferring his big, comfy dog bed over sharing the family bed. Although initially skittish when picked up, Benji enjoys gentle head and ear scratches. He does have a bit of a bark when other dogs approach the fence, but he responds well when called. While he hasn’t had much exposure to children or cats, he does enjoy the company of other dogs once he’s gotten to know them. Patience will be key as he takes time to warm up and build trust, but beneath his shy demeanor lies a heart full of love. Benji is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.
