About Hermey

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Say hello to Hermey! He is an adorable young Chihuahua/Miniature Dachshund mix with a short, apricot-colored coat who is currently enjoying life at Sadie's Safe House Chihuahua Rescue in Longview, WA. Hermey is around 1.5 years old, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and parasite prevention. He's a smart and athletic boy who came from a challenging background: he was one of many dogs saved from a hoarding situation where he had little to no human interaction. Since his rescue, Hermey has made significant strides. Hermey loves to play chase with other dogs and would really thrive in a home with another canine companion, regardless of size. He does well with both dogs and cats. Still, Hermey is quite timid and will need a patient adopter who is ready to invest the time to gain his trust. He is still working on potty, crate, and leash training and may be a "runner" until he feels secure, so new families should keep a close eye on doors and windows. For families with kids, extra caution is suggested, especially with children under 10, as Hermey's shy disposition means he needs a calm environment and supervision until he settles in. Fun fact: Hermey was born on December 31, which makes him a Capricorn—Capricorns are known for their resilience and patience! They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
