Bishop is berng fostered in Ringwood IL Drum roll please! This GORGEOUS hunk is Bishop. He is a male standard stocky black tri Australian Shepherd. He currently weighs 39lbs, but that is because he is super skinny under all that fluff! He should be about 45lbs and once he passes 2 years old will fill out a little more and may hit 50lbs. Bishop came to us as a stray from Warren County IN. He and another Aussie were found together by the animal control officer there. They were in bad shape with long nails, smelled awful and were dirty and matted. They both had collars on and he had a tag with the number 146 on it that was rusted. They were there for over 2 weeks and the animal control officer believed that they were dumped. Our vet believes Bishop is about a year old. Bishop isn't a social butterfly YET....his foster mom believes he can get there because of his brave demeanor and personality, of course, with the help of some cheese. His forever home will need to work on this with him and he will blossom into the ah-mazing boy we know he can be. Bishop is shy at first, but will approach humans and seems to really like them with slow introductions. Bishop is crate trained and his crate is his safe place. He will need a crate in his forever home. He is potty trained but still needs to stay on a schedule. He is GREAT on leash and is already giving his foster mom auto-check ins. He LOVES to sniff and check things out. He is SUPER brave when experiencing new things and meeting new people. What he hasn't been successful with is meeting the other dogs in his foster home. He might be best as an only dog in his forever home. He is super content with hanging out with just people. Bishop is still very puppy....so he might chew on things he isn't supposed to chew on. He is also a bit quirky, and he likes to take the tags off dog toys; such a silly boy! He LOVES to follow his foster mom while she is mowing the yard. He loves to playbow with her and run aroudn with her. He also really LOVES cheese and that has been the way to his heart when experiencing new things. He is a little head shy with new people, but add cheese to the equation and he warms up. He also loves a good scratch behind the ears and a on top of his wigglebutt. Bishop is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, negative for all tick borne diseases, has been dewormed, groomed and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.
