Meet Pearl, a stunning Australian Shepherd and Border Collie mix currently being fostered in Ottumwa, IA. At about six months old, she weighs around 34 lbs and is still growing; she’s expected to reach 45-50 lbs as an adult. Pearl has a beautiful blue merle coat, and her approximate date of birth is January 13, 2026. Originally found as a stray, Pearl was nurtured by a kind lady before coming to the Midwest Australian Shepherd Rescue. She's crate and potty trained, making her a great addition to any home. Pearl thrives when she has another playful dog to interact with; her foster siblings have helped her develop into the affectionate and social puppy she is today. She also enjoys doggie daycare and is even great with the cats in her foster home. While she's done well with kids aged nine and older, it's recommended that her forever home have children aged eight or above. Pearl would benefit from a fenced yard but is also happy being close to her humans, as she is quite the little velcro dog. Her new family will need to ensure she is well-bonded and has good recall before letting her off-leash. As a spirited Aussie mix puppy, she requires at least 2-3 hours of daily mental and physical stimulation along with consistent positive reinforcement training.
