About Congo
Meet Congo! This chocolate-coated pooch is around 2-3 years old and has soulful eyes that are just waiting to capture your heart. Congo was previously tied outside and had to fend for himself, making it take some time for him to settle into shelter life. Now, he shows us his sweet personality, realizing that people are here to help him. Congo is still learning the ropes when it comes to leash manners—it turns out he’s quite strong and needs some guidance. He’s picking up the command "sit" and will be a great candidate for training classes once he finds his forever home. Congo loves to spend time in the yard, joyfully romping around before settling down next to his person to soak up all the affection he can get. He could use a little TLC for his skin and fur, but with the right nutrition, reduced stress, and a cozy dog bed, his coat will shine beautifully. While Congo has had some playtime with other shelter dogs and displays a fun, energetic personality, he does have a tendency to assert himself, so reminders to play nicely are needed. Meet-and-greet sessions with any resident dogs are required. Congo is eager to start a new chapter where he can enjoy life as a house dog, share adventures with a caring person, and snooze comfortably on his own dog bed. Perhaps you can be the one to give him the loving home he dreams of.
