About Hazelnut
Hazelnut is ready to find her forever family! This petite Pittie princess has been waiting patiently since September 2025, living in a foster home since October. While her foster family loves her dearly, they're eager for her to find the perfect match. This young pup, likely around two or three years old, has made incredible strides. She's become a great walking buddy and knows some basic commands. With encouragement, her impulse control has improved, and she even enjoys running with her foster dad. Hazelnut does have a prey drive and shows some reactivity toward other dogs, but her foster mom can guide adopters on how to manage these behaviors. It's best for her to be the only pet in the home. Affectionately called Ms. Piggy and Hazelpig for her adorable snorts, she typically enjoys meeting new people, although she benefits from slower introductions. While she's friendly, a loud environment or busy gatherings can be overwhelming for her. She's not comfortable around toddlers, so a home without small children is ideal. Crate training has gone well, and she’s often happy to spend time there as she adjusts. Hazelnut has a stable and well-behaved demeanor most of the time, and with the right support, she will thrive. If you think you might be the one for this sweet girl, don’t hesitate to reach out!
