About Newton
Newton is a charming fellow, approximately 10 years old and around 14 lbs. He arrived at Mostly Mutts from animal control and has quickly endeared himself to the volunteers, enjoying their company and attention. Newton is looking for a loving home where he can share his affection forever. Though he initially came in heartworm positive, he will be treated soon, and the rescue will cover those medical costs, so local adoption is preferred. Newton has interacted with other dogs and, while still warming up to playtime, he has shown no aggression—he might be a good fit if you already have a friendly dog at home. Cats remain a mystery, and he hasn't been around young children, so it would be wise to avoid toddlers who might accidentally fall onto him. With a sweet disposition, Newton is curious and enjoys cuddles, walks, and, of course, ear rubs. He’s a good learner, currently enrolled in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where he has mastered commands like 'come' and 'leave it.' He’s doing well in his crate and starting to adapt to a potty schedule, with just a few accidents. This cute pup is up-to-date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and neutered. Newton is ready to find a family who will cherish him and take care of him for years to come. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
