Yeti is a young Great Pyrenees who found himself in a tough spot in a high-kill shelter in West Texas. Now in Minneapolis, he’s showing off his wonderful personality and is shaping up to be a fantastic family dog. He’s friendly with people and other dogs, though he prefers calm companions over the bustling energy of dog parks. Yeti is house trained, crate trained, and generally quiet, only alerting with short barks when someone arrives. He’s been around young children and toddlers, though he may need some time to adjust to their quick movements. This gentle guy doesn't favor toys but loves marrow bones and enjoys exploring the outdoors—taking long walks and wandering meadows are among his favorite activities. While he’s not a big fan of the leash, he does better on a halter after some patience and gentle training. Although he can be left alone while his owners are at work, Yeti will thrive with some outdoor time and daily walks. He would do best as an only pet in an adult-only home, or with another laid-back dog.
