Bear is emerging from his hibernation phase! Currently in a foster home, he’s learning more about the joys of indoor living. This mellow 4-year-old black Lab weighs around 80 pounds and has a gentle, affectionate personality. Bear enjoys relaxing in his crate, which he’s taken as his personal hangout spot. While he’s on the path to full potty training, he’s solidly crate-trained and spends his nights cozy there. He gets along well with his foster sister, showing good behavior during outings, including trips to PetSmart. We're still assessing how he feels about cats. This big cuddlebug will thrive with some formal obedience training, especially for leash walking and basic commands. Bear is very food motivated, so training should be a joy for his future family. He’ll need a securely fenced yard to stretch his legs and explore safely. Due to his size, older children or those with experience around large dogs would be ideal companions for him. One quirk to note: Bear loves to counter surf, thinking anything that smells delicious might be up for grabs. His new family will need to help him understand that counters are not for canine snacks.
