Sparky is a sweet 6-year-old female spayed German Shepherd who came to us after her elderly owner passed away. Currently in foster care in Chesterfield, MO, she has a reputation for being incredibly easygoing and pleasant to have around. Interestingly, Sparky doesn’t respond much to her name. Her previous owner used phrases like "Good girl" instead, so she’s more accustomed to terms like "Girl" or even Pretty Girl. Regardless of what you call her, she’s always happy to be by your side. She walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and fully house trained. In her foster home, she gets along well with other dogs but might prefer a setting where she can enjoy more undivided attention. While she generally has a lower energy level, she does display playfulness when running with her canine companions. Sparky has also been around cats and showed some fear towards them, along with exposure to chickens and rabbits without any prey drive. Though not guaranteed safe around every small animal, she could likely adapt with careful introductions. Weighing in at 116 lbs, she's a gentle giant.
