Skyla is a delightful 1.5-year-old female toy poodle weighing in at 6.5 pounds. Previously a breeder dog, she was spayed and adopted out, but her prior family expected her to become a service dog without any training; when this didn't work out, she was returned to the rescue. Skyla is affectionate and loves to cuddle, spending much of her time in your lap. She's friendly with other dogs of all sizes and plays enthusiastically, especially if a tennis ball is involved. Ideally, she would thrive in a home with another small to medium dog that can handle her playful spirit and a secure fenced yard for active play. Currently, Skyla demonstrates good house manners, is likely housebroken as long as she’s taken out on a regular schedule, and has no inappropriate chewing habits. She can be crated for up to five hours, and she's well-behaved, quiet, and low on barking. Skyla enjoys the company of respectful, dog-savvy children aged 10 and up, but younger kids might accidentally drop her. She comes when called, though she hasn’t learned any commands yet. With her loving personality, she enjoys grooming sessions and requires regular care 4–5 times a year. She navigates furniture and stairs without difficulty, showcasing her active side.
