With soulful amber eyes and a beautiful reddish coat, she's likely a mix of Labrador Retriever and Carolina Dog. This blend brings a perfect mix of intelligence, loyalty, and playfulness. Poppy Roux's journey began on the streets of Louisiana, where she managed to survive until rescue. After months in a shelter and treatment for heartworm disease, she faced an uncertain fate when the shelter closed. Luckily, thanks to a partnership between the Bissell Pet Foundation and Furever Tails Animal Rescue, she found herself on a transport to Michigan, leaving behind her old life and starting fresh. Today, Poppy Roux radiates happiness. Her tail wags constantly, and each day is an opportunity for joy—whether she's playing with stuffed animals, zooming around the yard, or rolling over for tummy rubs. She loves toys, especially soft ones, and believes every home should have a basket ready for her well-loved toys. She gets along wonderfully with other active dogs and would be a great fit with older, dog-savvy children. Although she’s excited and occasionally jumps to greet you, it's just her way of showing joy and love. Poppy Roux is crate trained, treat motivated, and knows basic commands. After overcoming so much, including life on the streets and health challenges, Poppy Roux is ready to embrace the love she deserves.
