About Jake
Jake is a goofy, high-spirited Plott Hound and Labrador Retriever mix who’s always up for an adventure. At five years old, he weighs in around 65 pounds and brings a big, bright personality to any room. Jake’s optimism is contagious—you can’t help but smile with him around. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and eager to please, thriving on both plushy toys and meat-flavored treats. He’s learned several commands already. Jake loves car rides and does well on a leash with someone confident holding it. He’ll happily keep your yard critter-free and settles in for a good nap afterward—he’s happiest when he can patrol a fenced yard before lounging on the couch. He sleeps quietly through the night and rides out the day with calm and good humor. Jake does best in a steady, active household with adults or kids eight and older. While he may be able to live with another mellow dog, he’ll almost certainly be happiest as your one-and-only, and he needs a home with no cats or small animals. Jake is highly stressed at the kennel and needs a full-time foster or adoptive home right away. Give this big-hearted optimist a chance to win you over! Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
