About Black Velvet

Black Velvet is a remarkable girl currently at our Dog Rescue in Puerto Rico. Once we find her forever family, she can fly to Philadelphia, Morristown, NJ, or Boston to meet her new adopters. At just 18 months old and weighing 39 pounds, Black Velvet's journey started off challenging. She was scheduled to join a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program after a friend of our rescue found her abandoned on a beach in Punta Santiago. When we discovered her, she weighed a mere 20 pounds, but her loving spirit remained unbroken. Now healthy and vibrant, Black Velvet is wonderfully social. She adores people, connects deeply with children, and enjoys the company of other dogs. Her gentle and affectionate nature makes her the perfect companion, whether you want to embark on an adventure or enjoy a quiet evening at home. Fully vetted, spayed, and vaccinated, she’s also up to date on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. Black Velvet is eager to abandon her tough past in search of the loving home she deserves.
