Meet Andy! This playful boy is a 6-month-old, neutered male with a medium coat who weighs around 35 lbs. He made the journey from Mississippi to Illinois after spending time in boarding with his siblings, and now he's thriving in his foster home. When Andy meets new people, he can be a bit shy at first. However, once he feels safe, his sweet personality shines through. He's gained a lot of confidence around resident dogs and loves playing with them. But beneath that playful exterior, he's a total cuddle bug, often inching closer until he's melting against your side. Andy adores giving kisses; hearing praise makes his eyes sparkle. Andy is doing great with house training, quickly learning to use the doggy door and understanding that outside is the place to potty. He’s crate trained too, keeping it clean overnight and while his foster family is away. He's wonderful with children, displaying a gentle and affectionate nature that makes him a great family companion. On the flip side, Andy does not get along with cats. He gets overly excited and wants to chase, so a cat-free home is ideal for him. Though we aren’t sure of his exact breed, there's likely some hound in his lineage. He loves following his nose on adventures, and his charming bark sometimes turns into a sweet hound howl. With his stubby docked tail and vibrant personality, Andy is a mix of playful puppy and loving snuggle buddy. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will fill your home with joy and love, Andy is eager to find his forever family!
