About Axl

Meet Axl! This charming little guy is a sweet and easygoing lap dog. At 7 years old, he’s a mix of Yorkshire Terrier and Chihuahua, weighing in at a petite 6.8 pounds. Axl has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on all vaccinations, plus he’s heartworm negative. Axl's previous owner adored him but had to relinquish him due to health issues. Axl is friendly with everyone, though he can be a bit shy at first. He enjoys being held and simply wants to follow you around. Currently fostered with other dogs, Axl coexists well, although he doesn’t engage in play. He has not met cats yet, but likely would do fine with them. While he hasn’t been around young children, he's done well with a 9-year-old—any kids in the home should understand to treat him gently. Axl is good in the car and is getting the hang of crate training, though he's still working on his potty training and has had a few accidents. He prefers light exercise; short walks and some outdoor time make him happy. He generally listens well and shows no food or toy aggression. Axl loves his toys and occasionally plays fetch when he feels like it. This darling boy has a wonderful personality and is almost through with his training. He'll need to be adopted within a two-hour drive radius of Hampton, VA. Click apply to start the adoption process.
