About Ernie
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Ernie, an adorable Yorkie-Poo with a heart full of love just waiting for his forever family. Ernie was found as a stray, and while his past is a mystery, his foster mom has gotten to know his wonderful personality. He is extremely friendly, great with small dogs and children, and forms a strong bond with his special person—he will happily stick by your side all day. Ernie enjoys a good meal, loves curling up on the couch or bed, and travels well in the car. His medium coat in lovely tan shades makes him especially cute and cuddly! While Ernie is reliable about doing #2 outside, he does sometimes mark indoors, but he's very cooperative with wearing a belly band. He's known to be a bit of a barker, especially when left alone, and suffers from severe separation anxiety, so Ernie needs a home where his humans are around most of the time and a fenced yard to safely explore since he isn’t used to walking on a leash. He would not be comfortable in an apartment or townhouse due to his barking when left by himself. This sweet little guy is estimated to be about 4-5 years old and is hoping for a loving, patient home ready to give him the companionship he craves. Fun fact: With Ernie's birthdate, he is a Pisces—dogs of this sign are known for being gentle and intuitive companions! He’s currently located in Williamsburg, Virginia, and can’t wait to meet his forever family. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Ernie
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Yorkie-Poos thrive in homes where they can spend lots of time with their humans, such as houses with families or individuals who are home often. They do well in homes with a backyard but can adapt to smaller spaces as long as they get enough attention and exercise.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Yorkie-Poos appreciate having access to a secure, fenced outdoor space but also enjoy indoor play. They don’t need a large yard, but daily opportunities to safely explore outside are beneficial.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Yorkie-Poos are generally friendly and gentle, making them good companions for families with respectful children. Supervision is always recommended, especially with younger kids, due to their small size.
