Meet Washington, a charming feline who came to the shelter in mid-June and is now ready to settle into a loving home. Often called Gorgeous George, this big, long-haired flame-point Siamese mix has slowly come out of his shell and is showing his delightful personality. At first, he was a bit shy and hissy, but with some time and a gentle touch, he has learned to enjoy petting and brushing. Washington has shown wonderful social growth and enjoys the company of other cats. He particularly thrives when in the presence of a feline friend, which helps him feel more confident. He’s estimated to be around 3 years old, neutered, and fully vaccinated, making him a great companion for a family looking for a gentle, affectionate cat. While he adapts well to all ages, he’ll do best in a quiet environment where he feels safe. Young children should be aware that he needs time to acclimate. He might also get along with a calm dog, provided the dog has a good demeanor towards cats. When he’s had enough cuddling, he enjoys lounging on the window sill, keeping an eye on the world.
