About Esther

Esther is a sweet senior Dachshund with a heart full of love and a remarkable story of resilience. Abandoned near a reservation, she has bravely survived on her own for some time, and despite her past, she remains incredibly trusting, affectionate, and gentle. Esther loves being around her people, happily following them from room to room and supervising daily activities. Queen Esther gets along wonderfully with dogs, including Labradors and other Dachshunds, while ignoring cats completely. She does well with children and thrives on companionship, seeming happiest when part of the family. Esther walks well on a leash and enjoys exploring the yard and taking leisurely strolls. Her energy level is low to moderate; she appreciates activity but is also content to relax and cuddle. Esther is house trained and consistently goes outside when her family is home. She can be vocal when separated and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. Despite the challenges she has faced, including matted fur and skin irritation, her spirit shines brightly. She has been diagnosed with Cushings Disease, and while she will require lifelong treatment, she is heartworm negative. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and gentle soul, Esther may be the perfect addition to your family. Ready to make a difference in Esther's life? Apply now!
