About Dakota

Dakota is a striking five-year-old, 76-pound male German Shepherd in search of a dedicated guardian. Originally purchased from a breeder in Arizona, he was unfortunately left behind when his owner departed, leaving him in the care of a roommate. Dakota embodies loyalty and affection, relishing walks and playtime, but he does have a reactive side towards other dogs as he hasn’t been socialized with them. Toys, especially squeaky ones, and playing fetch light up his day. He has not lived with children. Fully housebroken and crate-trained, Dakota responds well to commands, willingly entering his crate when told to do so. He respects property boundaries and prefers to sleep on the carpet beside his foster dad's bed. He is calm in the car and doesn't suffer from motion sickness. Dakota is in excellent health, neutered, and up-to-date on all vaccinations including rabies, distemper, and more. He has also been microchipped and is on monthly heartworm prevention. If you're interested in bringing Dakota into your home, please complete an adoption application and follow up via email to arrange a meeting. Every animal deserves a happy ending.
