About Briar
Briar is one of four shepherd mix puppies currently in Chicago searching for her forever home. She comes from a rural Kentucky background but is now thriving in foster care. Briar’s DNA mix is mostly German Shepherd and Doberman, with hints of other herding and working breeds—so expect a smart, spirited companion. At just three months old, Briar weighs between 15 and 18 pounds and is likely to grow into a large dog around 50-70 pounds. She’s energetic, curious, and social—the classic combination for active families ready to dive into puppy training, daily play, and ongoing socialization. Briar isn’t house trained yet, so she’ll need frequent potty breaks and consistent structure as she learns. She gets along well with dogs, cats, and children, making her a great fit for a multi-pet or family household. Her medium coat is mostly black and tan, reflecting her shepherd-doberman roots. Briar is spayed and up to date with all her puppy vaccines. Meetings in Chicago are set by appointment after an approved application.
