About Bamboo

Bamboo is one of four sweet Shepherd mix puppies rescued from a crowded rural shelter in Kentucky and brought to a foster home in Chicago. DNA from a littermate says this group is a blend of German Shepherd, Doberman, a touch of Chihuahua, Australian Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, and a dash of other working breeds. At three months old, Bamboo weighs around 15-18 pounds and will likely mature to about 50-70 pounds. He’s curious, energetic, social, and happiest when busy—an ideal match for an active household ready to commit to the work that raising and training a puppy requires. Puppies like Bamboo need plenty of play, engagement, mental stimulation, and frequent potty breaks throughout the day. If your schedule can’t allow for time-intensive puppy care and training, he might not be the one for you. He’s neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, and started on preventatives. Bamboo gets along well with cats, other dogs, and children. Meetings are by appointment for approved adopters in the Chicago area. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
